1. Who We Are

My Wealth Ledger is a desktop application developed and maintained by TheHobbyist Software. Our website is www.thehobbyist.in and you can reach us at amit@thehobbyist.in or +91-9632052634.

This Privacy Policy applies to the My Wealth Ledger desktop application for Windows.

2. What Data the Application Stores

The application stores only the information you deliberately enter, including:

• Your name, security question and answer, and your 4–6 digit PIN (stored as a salted, hashed value — never in plain text)
• Financial records you create: bank accounts, demat holdings, bonds, metals, cash, foreign investments, real estate, business holdings, vehicles, crypto, income, expenses, liabilities, budgets, goals and family members
• Documents and images you choose to attach to your records

All of this data is kept in a single encrypted SQLCipher database file located in a folder you choose on your own device.

3. How Your Data Is Protected

• Full-database encryption: Your entire diary is encrypted at rest using SQLCipher, so the database file is unreadable without your PIN.
• PIN protection: The application can be locked with a 4–6 digit PIN of your choice. The PIN is never stored in plain text; only a salted cryptographic hash is kept.
• Local only: The database never leaves your device. No part of the application transmits data over the internet.

4. What the Application Does Not Do

• It does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifiers.
• It does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or tracking pixels.
• It does not connect to any server, database, or third-party service.
• It does not contain analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
• It does not read files, folders, or data on your device other than the vault you create and the files you explicitly choose to open, export, or attach.
• It does not access the internet for any purpose.

5. Data Portability

You are always in control of your data:

• Export: Export your records to CSV files at any time.
• PDF reports: Generate formatted PDF reports of your finances.
• Move: Relocate your vault to any folder on your device.
• Back up: Copy your vault folder to create backups on your own storage media.

6. Data Deletion

Because your data is stored locally on your own device, deleting the application or its vault folder permanently erases your data. We do not and cannot delete anything on your behalf, as no copy of your data exists outside your device.

7. This Website

The My Wealth Ledger product page is a static HTML website hosted by AWS. It does not use cookies or advertising trackers. Standard web server logs (IP address, pages visited, browser type) may be retained by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes. These logs are not used to identify individuals and are not shared with any third party for advertising.

8. Children's Privacy

The application is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, as it collects no information at all.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy is ever updated, the revised version will take effect immediately and the "Effective Date" above will be updated. Since the application does not collect data, changes will relate to clarity and disclosure only.

10. Your Rights

Because we collect no personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you reside in the EU (GDPR), UK, California (CCPA), or any other jurisdiction with data-protection laws, those laws grant you rights over your personal data — which, in the context of My Wealth Ledger and TheHobbyist, means there is nothing to disclose.
